MERRY CHRISTMAS

I was trying to think what would be a good but suitable present to give you all for today.
Then I came up with this.
Now remember. An Ice Koobs is for life. Not just for Christmas.

AW. The greatest fan film of all time

Saying at Christmas you always have the movies playing. So I thought I would do a special animated movie. So for your viewing pleasure, The Greatest Fan Film Of All Time.
Btw that is the actual title.
Oh and if you want to skip the credits, go to around the 3.10 mark. Also this movie is about 40 mins long so make sure you have time to watch it.

So how people did you recognize?
Oh and for good measure. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! Again =0)

MM. Of Course It's Going To Be A Xmas Special

What else did you except with only 3 day left till Christmas?
But as you should all know I always put a little twist on obvious posts.
So enjoy "The Twelve Days Of Video Game Christmas"

Best line and most truthful one:
"On the fifth day of Christmas Richie gave to me a reason to play my WIiiiiiiiii."

Best line just because the guy says it so well:
"On the Ninth day, Niko! My cousin."'

Line I'm not getting (but he put so much enthusiasm into it that it's still good):
"On the second day, Version 2.o"

I wish I was imaginative enough to come up with something like this. I would gladly sing it just not come up with it. So if anyone has some songs they don't mind me slaughtering, send me an e-mail (the address is to the right in the "How to get in touch" section) and I'll do a video and post it =0)

This might be my last post before Christmas, so if that is the case then MERRY CHRISTMAS.

GF. I'm a Gamerscore Slut

If there is one thing I love in life, it is freebies. Which is what happened yesterday when I switched on my 360 yesterday. I was having a little look around seeing if there was anything new. Low and behold, I found a FREE game on the XBLA. So naturally I downloaded it right away without looking at the description. Heck the game is free, it has dinosaurs and it seem to be sponsored by Doritos, what could possibly go wrong? Well it made me a Gamerscore Hore. But that was the only bad thing. Over wise it a sound little game.
By the way, a Gamerscore Hoe (Hore, slut, [enter another word to describe someone who is sexually promiscuous here]) is someone who ONLY plays games to increase the Gamerscore. Not for the game itself. You can increase your score by doing little achievements throughout the game. The score doesn't do much, apart from giving you braggers rights on the game. I will admit that when I play a game that I like, I will go out of my way to try and get as many of the achievements as possible. But that's only because I'm a completenish (It's like OCD only for Video Games). By becoming a Gamerscore Hussy I feel slightly dirty. Points aren't meant to easy to get, but I did most of them in half an hour.

Any way let look pass the negative and talk more about the game itself.

Now this game is the winner of a competition called UnlockXbox. You literally came up with an idea and submit it. If it's good you get entered for the finals where a beta will be produced and the public voted on what they enjoyed the most.
The gameplay itself is easy to pick up but not so simple that you will get bored. Now the first game mode is to play as the the T-Rex and chase around the trucks before they finish their deliveries. Sounds easy and is easy, but by hell is it fun. You can flatten the city if you really want to and let your destructive nature lose.
But that's not all you can do, in the ultimate role reversal you can become the truck driver, where your aim is to make as many deliveries as possible before getting eaten. And it is as equally fun. I found a video clip of the gameplay in action. It not only shows how the game plays but also how good the graphics and sound is.

For a game that was free I wasn't excepting so much. And there is a multi-player mode as well which I haven't touched on yet. Actually I think I'll go and play that now. Toodles.

AW. Pokemon vs. Michael Jackson

The title says it all.
So who do you think is going to win the fight?

This is why I love animation. Anything can happen. Although I do feel sorry for that Pokemon Trainer.

MM. +44 (No not the area code the band)

To give you a true view of my music library I've decided to go for a new way of selecting what songs to play. The method I employ is what I like to call the Fruit Method.
Basically what I do is switch on ITunes, switch on random and hit play. If it's a band I've done before then I'll click skip. Luckily the first song on the list is a good one. I've literally got my whole music collection of the last ten years on here, so there might me some real chesse in there.

But any way onto todays Fruit Choice. +44 with When Your Heart Stops Beating

I love this song. As usal I have no idea why, but I do. Maybe it's the lirics or the beat or the tune. One thing that drew to +44 is the lead singer and the drumer. It Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker from Blink 182. One of the frist bands I activly listened to. I still listen to them today. But ovioulsy not as much saying that they have split up now. Shame really. I only got to see them once in concert.

GF. Update for December

So a couple of things have been going down this month. Like the new new web site by Konami.
If you you want to go to it you can find it here.
But to save you the bother I'll post a pic of what it is just below, wait for it, here.

Now this made not look like much but doesn't that last symbol look a lot like the 360 power button? Just a thought. Plus sales of the 360 have now increased in Japan thanks to "The Last Remnant". Not by much but still.
Now talking about the Last Remnant, reminds me of another that is going down in the gaming community. Cheaper games. Now it could be because of the recession. Or the fact that retailers have finally noticed that you they will sale more if it is cheaper. But it's been a bargain bonanza over here in the U.K. Here are a couple of examples. Last week Gamestation did Fable 2 and Fallout 3 for £20. They are now doing Banjo Kazooie for £20. That work's out £25 cheaper then RRP. And it's not like they are old games either. None of them have been out for more then 2 months. But it don't end there. Game this week are selling The Last Remnant for £20, which isn't too shaby. But get this, they're doing Prince of Persia for £25. That game's been out for less then a week.
But I've got to control myself. I can't be spending all my hard on cash on just games. Or can I. No must fight temptation. Got...to..chop..up ...........caaaarrrrdddd...ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Also so people can't say that I don't think. Does this "Looming" recession mean that Nintendo and Sony are screwed? Think about it. Causal gamers see gaming as a luxury. Something they can go without if needs me. With the big N only really aiming at the casual market they would be F'ed up if what I say come true. Sony aren't that better off either. Saying their games and console are more expensive but exactly the same as the 360 (plus a blue ray player). Like I said, just a thought. A little something from my fragile mind.

So a quick scan though my musical library and found this catchy little number.

Sorry for infecting your minds. You're not going to forget the tune for at least a week.

'08 bearly finished

Ok so it is coming close to the end of the year. But surly it's to early to start anouching what games are going to be produced for 2009? Only two have picked up on my radar, one of which is Guitar Hero 5. I can't see how producing another Guitar Hero so soon is going to be worth it. But I can see that this is going to be one fanchaise that going to get the life and soul sucked out of it. And it will more then likely involve another guitar for you to furiously masturbate. Mmm plastic fantasic, I think not. I have far too many fake guitars now so no thanks. To actually think, the amount of time and money I have spent on musical rythm games could of actually learning to play the real thing. As per usal I've done things the wrong way around again. I should of done the real thing, earn lots of money from that and then buy all the games I want with all the mulla I would of had. Shucks.

The second game of which I will be purchasing is Call Of Duty: Morden Warfare 2. Now before anyone asks "WHY? You hated COD:W@W." The differents this time around is that my beloved Infinty Ward will be again producing it. Not the shambles that is known as Treyarch. Hopefully IW will be able to put right what Treyarch so, so, SO broke. I guess a good thing about it being anounced so early means that they would have started to devolpe it now. Which again is something BastardArch, sorry, ShitArch cocked up on by starting production so late.

Any dos, I'm sure I came on here to do something else. Ahh well I'm sure it will come back to me.

Should I be Happy?

While reading the Metro yesterday (it's free. I'm not saying no to a freebie). I found out that a virus is being spread through facebook. The name of this virus? "Koobface".
At first I was all like "aww wow some one name something after me." But then I thought some more and realized that it's not that a good a thing.
I just want to know who came up with the name. And before anyone says it was me who made it, yeah. Cause I'm sooooo good with computers that I have the same layout for over six months now. Actually saying that I should look at reformatting the layout. It's getting a bit dull now. Mmm my creative juices are flowing now.

GF. Mirrors Edge

For a game that I wasn't sure about I'm pleasantly surprised by Mirror's Edge. The big thing that hits me is that even though it's not like a rainbow it's still vibrant with it's colouring. You can actually see where you are going and meant to be heading as well. Even if you switch off runner's vision (this is why some object turn red. They act as a guide), you can still work out ways of getting from one point to next.
Also, as of yet, I haven't run into any major glitches. There is one small in the game play one but it doesn't spoil the game play if that makes sense. It's hard to describe as well, especially if you have never played the game before, and I only noticed it because I'm like that, in that I notice the smallest of things. But the biggest thing I can say that is is that I haven't come across any graphical ones. This is big in my eyes now, especially after the shanagnas of COD. World at War.
If you're a fan of free running then I would say that this game is a must have. By making it play thought a First Person persceptive you do with like you are there and linking each vault and wall run. It almost makes me want to climb out my window and run across the roof. But as soon as I lean out I realize that:
One. It's way to cold to being stuff like that.
And two. I'm (don't laugh now) scared of heights.
Well at least I can watch videos of other people doing it instead.

One final thing that I think needs to mentioned is that its good to see that more effort was put into the production of the game then the advertising of it. If anything it has advertise it self with every trailer that has been produced.

Funny times at work

It doesn't happen to often. But sometimes a situation will just appear right in front of you that you have to take advantage of it.
One of these situations happen yesterday while the shop was getting cleaned. I'll show you the picture first followed by what I shouted.

"I TOLD YOU NOT TO DISTURB ME WHILE I'M CLEANING MY ROOM!"

I love Scary Movie. And from the amount of laughter I got, I don't think I'm the only one.

AW. Cartoons of or youth

Have you ever seen the beginning of most cartoons these days? None of them match up to what we used to watch. No catchy tunes. No revving you up to be super hyper. No nothing.
Here some classic examples good openings to some classic cartoons.

Which one was your favorite turtle. I like (yes I still like him hence the present tense) Michaelangelo. All the others are to serious.

I think I pissed my mum off so much when this came on because I could only remember the "Chip Chip Chip N' Dale" part.

I actually learned this song when I was younger. I think it made Saturday mornings much more bearable. I can't remeber all of it now however. Such a shame =0(

And last but not least. Well click play and find out.

Now truthfully how many people always use run around the place screaming at the top of their lungs "Thunder, Thunder, Thunder...THUNDERCATS HOOOOOoooooeeeeeee."
Or was it just me. I might do it at work when it's quite and see if any one joins in.

Those where just 4 I could think of now but I'm sure that are others that I've missed. Do you guys remember any others?

MM. Daft Punk

I've been listening to Daft Punk for ages now. I don't even remember when I first heard them. But I do know that my first album was Discovery. I think the main reason that I got it was because I saw one of the music videos which was all done Anime style. But one song that always sticks out in my mind is Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger. You might recognize the title but not be able to put your finger on where you heard it. I won't ruin the surprise yet. I'll let you hear it first.
Now instead of posting the official video, I found this one instead. I know it's gathered quite a big fan base already but, Meh, so what if I behind with the times.

So what do you think? And have you worked out where you've heard it yet? Answer on the back of a post card please (or at least leave a comment, lol).
I love how they merge the two verses together. It's pulled off so well. Also I love a bit of disco dance music. Nothing better to bounce around on the dance floor to then an infectious beat. Or at least that's what I think.

GF: Call Of Duty. World At War

As you know I have bought this game. What you will not know is that I've traded it in this morning.
There isn't any replayabilty in it at all. Sure you can go and collect the death cards or try it on Veteran mode. But after dying for millionth time from a grenade the novelty of the game wore off of me.
For shame Treyarch. You've should of just left COD to Infinity Ward. They gave you template to work off. Why did you go and try and build on it. The AI lobbing grenades left, right and center isn't the only problem. Even if you are at the back of the group they will charge at you and you alone. Plus don't expect any help from your colleges. Also they are some really bad graphical glitches as well. One example I can remember very clearly is at the very beginning. A Japanese solider goes to remove a knife from his boot in front of you. There is a good couple of inches between his hand and the boot before the knife appears in his hand.
Anyway thats my opinion on COD W@W. In case you not sure where I stand on it, ased on my scoring system, I would give it 6. Hopefully Infinity Ward will produce COD 6 and not cock up like Treyarch have.

AW Classic: The End of the World

Every once in a while I'm going to do a post about some classic Flash animation.
The only real reason why any one would know about these will be because you even found them by accident or if you've been surfing the web since you were a wee lad. I'm the latter. I was thinking about it yesterday and realized that I've had access to the net for over 10 years now. That's a decade. It's amazing how it's now become an integral part of most peoples life. But any way on with the show.

I just have to say one thing. "WTF mate?"

MM: Paramore

So has anyone heard of Paramore. I would be surprised if you haven't at least heard Misery Business of which I choosing for todays music video.

I don't know why but I'm strangely attracted to the lead singer Hayley Williams. Don't get me wrong she is no where as fit as Mrs Koobs. But she definitely has something alluring about her. It could even just be that she has Orange hair (not ginger just orange).
Are there girls that are really as bitchy as this one? I was just wondering as if she did any of that crap to me in school I would of just the teacher on her right away lol.
My actual favorite part is not even not the school scenes but one of the band scenes. Actually go back up to video and put it around the 2.10 point. The timing is bloody spot on. And I have to admit that that guy was a bit of a twat. His girlfriend is way better looking then that hoe in the blue dress. And the way he looks bear haps afterwards until he sees his girlfriend breaking down.
Ahhh reminds me of school. Oh how I miss all the crap that went on.

GF. My list is full

After finished the single player campaign on COD W@W I instantly went to thinking about what new game I should buy.
But then noticed that I had a pile of games that I haven't completed yet. Not a good sign. I can't have all these games and not at least try to finish them. And then there are the ones where I've done all the main bits but need to carry out all the side missions. The biggest culprit of the latter crime being GTA IV. God dam you having so many damn missions plus all those extra gamerpoints you give.

But I've now set myself a challenge. Before I can buy a new game I need to do the main story of one of my incompletes. Or all the challenges on the complete ones.

Just a little list to give you an idea of what I've got to do.
Incomplete
Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy XII
Okami
Lego Star Wars
Burnout Paradise
Super Paper Mario
Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door
Eternal Darkness

Complete (But need to do the extras)
GTA IV
Assassins Creed
COD W@W

Whaa thats too many. But at least with this challenge that I have now set myself, I can save a bit of money. I guess. Even though I would really like Rock Band 2. And Guitar Hero:WT.....And Banjo Kazzoie.....And.........

Meet my XMii. His called Ice Koobs as well.

Hi I'm Ice Koobs XMii. And I got couple of things that I would like to bring to your attention. First even though I'm a rip off of Nintendo's Miis, as you can see I'm far better. So neeehhh =0P

Ok ok. Sorry about that guys but it seems that my XMii has some personal issues that he needs to sort out. But I do have to admit that he does look cool. But anyway I got a couple of things to relay today.
As you might of guessed the first thing up on the table is the New Xbox Experience (A.K.A NXE).
I like it. Simple as that really. So what if they ripped off the Miis from Nintendo (XMiis as I like to call them) and also the open airy design of the Playstations menus. They at least do it with style and dare I say it, better then the originals do.
With the XMii I feel that I have better control over what my Avatar looks like. Even though there is the same selection of facial expressions (maybe more I've not gone and compared yet) there is also a choice of clothing and this seems to make a big difference.
The layout of the menus will take a little while for me to get use to but it just has a very clear and visualizing appealing feel to it. The disk copier is cool but you've got to keep the game in the disk drive regardless. But it does make your 360 so much quieter and it also means that if you have an older version that you are less likely to get any burn rings (no not that kind, the ones on your c.d you prev).

In other news, I've completed COD: W@W. Old news in a way 'cause I did the deed Tuesday evening. But I'm proud none the less. Now I've got time to dig into the multi-player section.
A couple of things that I've noticed about W@W so far.
  • It does seem to be as glitchy as Window Me (and that was glitchy). At the end of the last American mission it would run the cut scene and I was just running around for nothing. Also once when I was on multiplayer I jumped into a tank and earned an Artillery strike. I went to call it but didn't want to waste it so canceled. When I left the tank I was stuck with the Artillery strike and couldn't pull out my gun.
  • The enemy seem to be less trigger happy and more grenade happy. I think that I only die once, no make that twice, by gun shot. The rest of the time (about one hundred and fifty two times) was by grenades. Which is alright on normal mode, but on Hardened and Veteran one hit from a grenade is enough to take you out.
  • It is addictive. I don't know why but I had to complete it.
  • Even though at the beginning you don't feel much for the characters. I did start feeling sorry for Dimitri. Even at the end he has it hard.
So there you have it. I'm going back to join some multi player maddness now. If anyone wants to hit me up just send a friend request to the gamer tag "Ice Koobs" and just pop a massage that you've read my blog. Toddles.

AW. The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny

I'm not in the best mind set right at this present moment in time.
So please excuse me for the short post.
I thought I would show you guys not only one of my favorite pieces of of music but the flash animation (saying that it is Animated Wednesdays) that goes with it as well.

Now I'll admit that its not the best flash out there, but it is synced well with the song, which is one the best songs out there. I wonder how the guy came up with the lyrics and that leads me to thinking how anyone comes up with lyrics. And then I remember why I was down and get depressed again.
Meh. I'm going to have cheesy Doritoes there the best.

MM: The Automatic

These guys have had a face recently.
The first thing they got rid of is their keyboardist. He was the one with the high pitch singer in Monster (don't worry if you haven't heard it. You'll see why soon). So i thought this Musical Monday will be about the different between then and now. The only thing that needs to be bared in mind is that I not a great speaker on music. Which you guys have probably be noticed in previous posts.

But first things first. The videos.
Then
I like them then and now. But I do have to say that if I was froced to pick I would probably chose Steve McQueen. Both have the Hook. "Whats that coming over the hill, is it a monster?" and "I was the teenage Steve McQueen". Both are great dance starters in a club as everyone can help but start jumping around while shouting out the lyrics.
Another thing they both have in common is they both have a cool tune. I not sure about any one else but when I hear it I instantly know what the song is. But then again thats possibly from me playing to much Guitar Hero.
But with all these similarities why would I pick Steve McQueen over Monster. Well I mention the reason earlier. The keyboardist. Ok sure it gave the edge to Monster to single it out from the pack, but hearing over and over makes it become irritating.
Any way. I know that this isn't the longest Musical Monday but I want to go and play some more COD W@W. Toodles.

Oppps

So I went and traded the games in yesterday. Got £46 for them in total. I feel rich.
I even got £7 for GoW. Which was more then I expected. When I worked at Game (about a year ago) they only gave £1 for it. Good to see that I got something out of that piece of crap (sorry NebachadnezzaR but it is in my eyes).
Anyway in the end I didn't get any of the three games I've mentioned. I went and got Call Of Duty: World At War. Hence the reason why I forgot to do a post yesterday. I was playing this all night.

I wasn't to sure at first, I really like where COD 4 went with the modern warfare and everything. But to see that W@W was going to be set back in WW2 felt like it could be taking a step backwards. So far it's ok. Not as ground breaking as 4, but it still makes me want to complete it. Like in 4 you play on two fronts. The Americans against the Japaneses and the Russians against the Germans. However thats where the similarities stop. Where in 4 I started to develop a link with both of the main characters, I'm only enjoy playing as the Russians.
I've still the play the multi player yet. But it looks interesting. With the original modes from COD 4 plus Co-op for the main story. Once I've done the main game I'm going to try it right away.
Oh yeah and sorry for not doing a post yesterday.

GF. Trading in

So I might me doing something I've never done before. Trade in some of my old games.
Yeah I'm a hoarder. I don't care if I'm not going to play the game for a while, I won't dare part ways with it. Unless its crap.
Which is why I was looking to trade these little buggers in.

Sonic has seen better days, Guitar Hero III is way to difficult to be fun and I believe you all know my feelings toward Gears Of S***y War.

But what should I get? A couple of choices I have:
  • Mirrors Edge
  • Banjo Kazooie
  • Guitar Hero: World Tour
I've played the demo of Mirrors edge and even though it is visually brilliant. It's not my type of game.
So now all thats left is the BZ or GH. God dam it. I might have to just get both.

I miss ?J.
When is he coming back? He even kept it under wraps that he was going aboard from me.
Not that I didn't know he was going. I even know where he went, not that I'm going to tell anyone.
I hope he brings me back a souvenir of some sort.
Not that's that a hint or anything.

Another person I missing is FatherK. But his not blogging for a completely over reason. Hope you're getting better.

But hell I still got Junlee and Deitrix to keep me going.
BTW Deitrix website is found here. For some reason I can't put a link in my RSD read Deitrix, do you know any reason why?

Nothing much to say

Nothing really has happened today.
Well something kinda of happened but has not happened yet. If that make sense.
I've been asked to review a phone at work before it is released and (guess what) write a blog about it. Oh the irony. I'm finding it hard enough to my own personal one.
I can't really talk about the phone. Not because I've been told not to but just because I want to see what it is like first before I say anything about it. I think most of you guys know how I am when it comes to reviewing things. Hard but fair. I might post something when the phone is available for sale.
On another topic I'm looking at my options to get Guitar Hero: World Tour. I think I'll trade in my Guitar Hero 3 (plus guitar) on the Wii for the 360 GH:WT. I learned my mistake from getting the Wii one when I went looking for the downloadable songs. What a screw up that was.
Nintendo need to put their game up. It still costs £180 over here. A 360 Premium Pack (the one with a 60gb hard drive) is only £200. With an extra £30 for the Elite edition. That means that if I was chosing a console on pure merit then the 360 would win hands down. Better graphics, better online play, and (it kills me to say this) better games (oh god it hurts).
Dam it Nintendo. You must of made enough money now. Make the Wii 2 already. A Wii with improved graphics, improved online, a hard drive, better motion control, better (hardcore) games. I think i finally understand how some mothers feel when their little child that they wanted to be a Lawyer says that they want to become a Dustbin Man.

For a day that I didn't think I would write a lot I actually have. I would say it was a bit of a Random Ramble but then I think ?J will sue over copy right.

MM: Naruto Special

After the last Animated Wednesday I've kinda gone a bit Naruto crazy. So I found and downloaded all the Naruto opening and closing tunes onto my phone so I can listen to it when ever I want. Even at work (not that I would do that, damn I slow not stupid).
Any way here are my personal favorites and the lyrics as well (both in Japanese and English)

Enjoy =0)

Just a quick note before people send the hate mail. These are the full versions of all the songs and how the bands have released them. NOT what the songs are from the actual opening and ending of the Naruto anime. Yeah I only just remembered that after finding the Orange Range video. Talking about the video, I really love the dude in the white shirt's hat. I want one.

I know the subs aren't perfectly time but this was the best I could find. I still love the songs and when it comes to J pop I don't normally care what it means in English. Bad I know but how can you when you just hear the upbeat and tempo.

I'm not going to post a video with subs for this one. I think you know what his saying.

So, there you have it. Not only one but three songs from my music collection. Told you it was wide a varied. Hope you enjoyed it. If you didn't then just post a comment and say why. If you did then post a comment anyway. I like comments =0)

Pimp my ride Origins

Ever wonder where Pimp My Ride got its ideas from. And after watching a classic movie I think I've found them.

The movie I was watching was Ghostbusters by the way. Bright lights and extra space in the back for your Proton Packs. You can't get more pimped then the Ecto 1. Or can you?

The De Lorean from Back to the Future. This baby could time travel and fly as well. Hell if thats not enough, then don't forget it had the flux capacitor, a nuclear freaking reactor, for an engine.

Dude its like a talking car. Thats almost tops off the De Lorean. Well it would if it could fly and time travel. Or maybe if the De Lorean could speak. "No Marty. I don't think that is a good idea." Yeah that would be sweet.

Ok the last car in my list is coming up. But before I unveil it, I must warn you. I asked my mum for some ideas. This was the only thing she could come up with. So don't take the piss too badly.

Yep. The Love Bug, Herbie. She didn't even mention any of the others apart from Kitt. But that was because I mention him (or it as he is a car) as an example.

Get out of the bloody way!

Why is it, that at Christmas all the slow people come out. Slow as in stupid and moving.
I only have an hour lunch break. Why should I have to spend half of that dodging and diving to avoid people. Life (sadly) is not a video game. I get no "Continues" if I'm late off my lunch, no second chances.
Why can't slow people move to the side and let people pass. When I have a lot of shopping or even just walking slow I stick to the sides. That way people can at least get pass me.
Like Jesus its not the hard. I don't think you understand the frustration that you I feel when I stuck behind what seems like a country western line dancing trope.
JUST GET OUT OF THE WAY!

GF. Decisions Decisions

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.
I've got a hard choice to make.
Should I get Guitar Hero World Tour or not?

I lost my confidants in Guitar Hero (GH) after number three. Number one set the standard, where number two improved on it. Then number three came along with mediocre songs, over the top difficulty and crappy boss battles. However with world tour they have sorted out the play list. Here are just some of the songs. The main ones that I know and want to play.
  • American Woman (The Guess Who)
  • Are You Gonna Go My Way (Lenny Kravitz)
  • Assassin (Muse (about time that they got more recognition and aren't a bonus track))
  • B.Y.O.B (System of a Down)
  • Beat It (Michael Jackson)
  • Dammit (Blink 182)
  • Everlong (Foo-Fighters(A blantant kick in the face to Rock Band. They used this in there trailer for Rock Band 2))
  • Eye of Tiger (Survivor(The ROCKY theme!))
  • Freak On a Lease (Korn)
  • The Kill (30 Seconds to Mars(Another jab at Rock Band)*
  • Misery business (Paramore(The right Paramore song to have))
  • Monsoon (Tokio Hotel)*
  • Rooftops (A Liberation Broadcast) (Lostprophets)
  • Spider Webs (No Doubt)
  • What I've Done (Linkin Park (Link Fricking Park!!! SWEET))
  • Hotel California (The Eagles(I always turn this up to full volume when its on))
  • Mr Brightside (The Killers(This is only a download but still))
*These are also available on Rock Band. It would be interesting to see how each game plays.
Another thing that I can thank GH for is introducing some wicked bands to me. I would have never bothered to listen to Avenge Sevenfold, as I seen them as a bit to heavy. But after playing Beast and the Harlot on GH2, I fell in love with their crazy guitar solos and the catchy hooks.

The only thing is the cost of buying another guitar for another game. I already have a full band kit. Do I really need another instrument to take up more space and money? And another game at that point as well? I already got Mirror's Edge and Banjo Kazooie playing for my affection.
Too many decisions.
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.

AW. A return of Ice 101

Before I start doing any reviews about any type of animation I feel that I need to get some things clear. The differences between Manga and Anime. The best way to do this I feel is reintroduce "Ice 101".

Ice 101
Lesson #004 Anime and Manga
Now when I was a young lad (some people would still say I'm a whipper snapper) I was greatly confused by Japanese Animation. I would always go into shops and ask for Manga and get shown to the DVD section. Which isn't right. Manga is the equivalent of a graphic novel, so it should be in the book section of the store.
But this always made me think "Am I wrong?" (I wrong most of the time, so it wouldn't of surprised me). But atlas i was right. There was a company over here that produced Anime DVDs and are called Manga. This is what the confused the sales people. Dumb asses. Also another factor that contributed to the confusion is that lots of Anime, if it's popular, get converted to Anime. A bit like a good book can get turned into a movie. (If it becomes a GOOD movie is another question).
Anyway just so that everything is clear here are is an example of Anime and Manga. This is from the Manga of Naruto. The following video is of the same scene but in the Anime version.

Oh I forgot to mention another thing. Manga is normally reads from the right to the left (more on this later). So for example the above would be read as "Kage Bushin No Justu" Not "Justu Kage Bushin No". Kage Bushin No Justu means "Shadow Clone Technique" btw just in case you were wondering. See who say I don't do anything educational. I'm teaching Japanese.

As you can see there's not much difference between the two. And I like both as much as the other.
Now a bit more about why Mangas read from the right to left. The most important fact is that Japanese is read from the right to the left. Now it used to be that Manga when released in the UK and the US was published in a "flopped" fashion. In that everything is reverse so that it will read from left to right. Where this would make reading easier it also reversed any designs as well. So a shirt saying "Hello" would read "olleH" and because it wasn't actually part of the script it wouldn't get corrected. Also many artist didn't like this being done to their work. They said that it skews the original idea.

So there you have it. Another lesson finished. So now when I'm talking about Anime or a Manga you're hopefully know what I'm on about as well as which is which.

MM. Sam Sparro: Black & Gold

Well I heard this song I loved it straight away. I couldn't get enough of it. Heck I still can't enough of it now. Every time I hear it I just wanna tap my feet.

There is one thing for sure. I want one of those light up tuxes. How sweet would that be.
Like a fit bird would be all "Oh no. I can't see where I'm going."
And then I could be like "Have no fear. Ice Koobs is here." Then switch the suit on and be like all cool and everything. Or I could end up looking like a Christmas Tree. Still would be a cool Christmas Tree.
This is one of those songs that once it's got its hook into will just not let you go. But I like it for that. The fact that I can hear it quite often and not get pissed at it.
This is where my lack of skill at describing why I like music take effects. I don't know what else to say.
But that is why these Musical Mondays are about WHAT I have in my collection of music and not WHY they are there.

Wassup Polictal

Have you ever wondered what happened to the Budwiser guys?
Then take a ganda below to find out.

Spot: Wassup 2008 from VideoSpotNow on Vimeo.

But on a serious note. Every one who can in America should go to vote on the 4th. I'm not saying that you should vote for Barack Obama. But I am saying you should vote. In a world where there so many places where people have no voice we should feel proud that we can chose who can run our country. Both in England and America.
Supposedly more people vote in Big Brother then the General Elections. How can you complain that you are not happy about something or a way a thing is being done if you didn't bother to stand up and have your say in the first place.
Sometimes when it come to any election. I wonder what it would take to get the majority of people to vote. I know you could never get everyone to vote, no matter how hard you tried. I think of all the reason why some people don't vote, but because I do, it's hard to come up with any reason. A manage a few.
  • What's the point. It will never go the way I want it.
My argument to this is as I said earlier. If you don't vote then how will you know. Maybe it's your one vote is the one that changes everything.
  • All the parties are the same anyway.
Then don't just look at the main steam parties. I don't know how it is in America but over here in England there are always more then the three main parties. And they are all very different. Take the Green Party for example. They want to push for higher taxes on non eco-friendly things. Oh if I have to say one thing on who to vote for then don't ever vote for them. Stupid Green Party.
Sometime I wonder what it takes to try and enter the election. If the values I have are the same as the nation. Or if I could do a better job then most people. Could you imagine it. Prime Minster Koobs. Kinda sounds cool. I like it. Excuse me I'm gong to look into making this possible.

GF. Halloween Gaming

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There's my trick and now for my treat. Games that have scared the crap out of me.
A complete list of them in no particular order.

Resident Evil
Who can remember the dogs from the first game? God they haunt me in my dreams. Jumping though the window and making with drop my controller with sheer fear.

Some people have gone to far and even made their own dog do a cos play of these truly evil dogs.

Half Life
This game wasn't designed as a horror game. But even so it still freaked me out. The ramdom aliens being teleported in and the Head crab as well were not good for my well being. Thinking of it still sends shivers down my spine. Only starting with a wrench doesn't help either. The Head Crabs where given an extra scare factor in Half Life 2 with two new types being added. The poison and spider variants. The poison one is self explanatory but the spider ones where super quick.
Eternal Darkness
This game went out of its way to make you think you where going crazy. Some of the most memorable parts being when the game will trow something ramdom at you. There is a part where you are exploring the house and check an empty bath tub. I won't say what you are treated to, but it freaked me out thats for sure. Another thing that made me fit was the presentation of the dreaded Blue Screen. For those of you who don't know what that is (I been kinda surprised if there any) it was a screen that appeared numerous times when using the old versions of windows when your computer crashed. Now these scares where one off ones that wouldn't happen again, but there where effects that where more frequent. This all depended on your sanity. Which was measured by a sanity meter (very original). The lower this became (from seeing a zombie for example) the more ramdom crap was thrown at you. This could be anything from you exploding after casting a healing spell on yourself (I thought I did something wrong) to the walls and celling bleeding blood.

The Legend of Zelda. Ocarina of Time
I bet you're thinking what the F*** aren't you?
Well there's the Wall Masters. They were nasty pieces of work. You knew they where coming when you hear the clicking noise they made and by the shadow on the floor. Then they would take you back to the very beginning of a level. Now that is truly heartless. Then you had Like Likes that shallowed you whole and took your items.
But they weren't the worst enemy by far. Oh no, not at all.
The worst one in my eyes was the Re Dead. First they freeze you with there scare and scream. Then while yo can't move they slowly walk over to you. Then they do you the most scariest thing ever. They hump your head till you die. The cold bastards. Killing just for sexual kicks.
Don't remember or belive me? Then watch the clip below.

That's only some of the things that have scared while playing games and I'm sure that there will be many more in the future. Hopefully I won't be an old man with incontinent when the next big scare comes along.

Koobs Cos Play of the day. Mario

Yeah there are gong to be a few of these over the next couple of days. But I took a lot of photos at the MCM expo. I might do one massive post with all the photos but for now I do one at a time.

What is up with this guy's chin hair?
If you're going to dress up and do cos-play at least do it right. It's made worst by the fact that it's ginger. No offense to ginger people, I love orange, but Mario has brown hair. Full stop. This guy needs to shape up his cos-playing. For shame.

MM. Sum 41

Hello and welcome to another Musical Monday. A day where we delve deep into my music collection.
This week while searching for something to use I found this classic. All Killer No Filler.

This is from a time where I wanted to be a hip skateboarded. The only problems were:
  1. I wasn't "Hip".
  2. I couldn't skate for dear life.
So the only thing I had left going for me was to listen to some skate music. Now I'm not saying that Skaters only listen to Sum 41. Skate Music is wide and varies from Grunge to Indie to Hip Hop to Grime and back again. That's not even the entire list. But at the time "In Too Deep" was the song that everyone was playing.
And now for your viewing pleasure I bring you, SUM 41:

All Killer No Filler was the second album released by the guys. I remeber having debates in class over which one was better all the time. I always lost the argument though. Mainly because I never hear "Half An Hour Of Power" (the first one). Plus I could never explain properly why I liked the songs. A bit like now really.
Any way hope you enjoyed todays Musical Monday. I'm not sure if it's to short or too long. Drop a comment to tell me what you think.

Sooo, soo tired

Another day, another Expo. This wasn't as good as the one in May (it was still good mind you), but that could be because I went on a Sunday and the weather was crap.
There was a bigger Video Game presence this time around which is very welcomed. I got to play on Street Fighter IV (for free), Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe (not that great), Dead Space (I got a wicked photo from the booth), Prince of Persia (back to the original Sands of Time gameplay)and Naruto: Broken Bond (again very similar to the orginal). Out of all of them I enjoyed Street Fighter the most. I'm crap at Beat 'em Ups, but I wanted to actually practice on this one.
I opted for a disposable camera this time around instead of using my Phone. It took to long for my Phone to take photos and I started feeling bad making people hold a pose for so long. I'm also hoping that more of the photos come out ok this time around.
I'm going to get the photos devoloped tomorrow so I'll scan them onto my computer and post the best ones on Tuesday (remember tomorrow is Musical Mondays now).
Sorry for the poor contents of the last posts. It just like the title of this post says, I'm "Sooo, so tired".

GF. Fable new and old

Another two big games have been released today. Fable 2 and Dead space. Don't you just the fourth quarter when it comes to Video Game releases. As if I've got enough money, let alone time, to buy them all.
But enough of me complaining, I've been far too much of that recently (seems like its the only thing I can do good at the moe). On with the show.
Now contrary to what it seems this post won't just be new release related. Oh no no no. There so many games out there it would be unfair to make this to just new releases. What I really want to talk about is Fable. The Original.

Released 16th of September 2004 (yeah only four years ago, feels longer), this was a game that took multiple ending and routes to a new level. Now even kicking the chicken was accountable for (damn you Link, making me evil already). Every action you take will effect your alignment towards good or evil.

While killing Monster, saving traveling merchants from bandits and helping villagers will help your become good and make the people love you.

Where if you break the law (stealing), abuse your partner or kill innocents (human and animal, bloody chickens) you will become more evil.

Saying that it's easier to be evil then good. Plus, truthfully, it looks cooler as well (I think this is the first game to encourage you to be bad on purpose).

I'm still playing though the original and haven't actually completed it yet. Yeah look at me trying to make it look like I've play this game a million times =0) But that's one reason why I won't be getting number 2. The games are only related by where they are set and the gameplay system but I still want to finish this game. I've got far too many incomplete games.

Aww crap. Already?

Nooooooooooooooooooo. The worst thing has happened to me today.
I've hit Blogers Block.

It's partly my own doing. By making the Guaranteed Three, I feel bad putting anything Game, Music or Anime related on any of the other days.

Animated Wednesdays:

The final one of my ideas for the Guaranteed Three. Animated Wednesdays is as the name suggests about animation. Any type, Anime, Flash Animation, Manga, the list goes on.

I been searching the web to find an animation that will do this first post justice. Now there is good news and bad news. Now the good news. I found a REALLY good animation. The bad. It's on Newgrounds. That means that I can't embed the flash video. But if you click on the picture below then you will be taken to the animation "Legend Of Miyamoto". Just click on "Play Movie".

So what do you think? You know this really happened to Miyamoto in real life. Actually it is now officially the reason of where he got his ideas of (at least on this blog it is).
The flash is well edited and the syncing to the music is incredible. I miss Fat Boy slims old stuff. I hopes he makes another classic like Gangster Tripping soon.

Well there you have it the beginning of my Guaranteed Three. Hope you liked them. And now for you, the readers, to help be decide how I will do my future posts. Now that you know what the layout is going to be I would like you vote in a poll. It's as easy as that. All I ask is that you click on what you think and submit it. Also if you chose "Other" please post what "Other" is as a comment to this post. I will carry on the Guaranteed Three for another week until the end of the poll and obviously depending on the outcome I will carry on or leave it.

Also don't think that the random posts will stop. They will carry on just I'm not saying that they will be every day. A guy needs a break once in a while. Anyway I'm rambling as usual so I'm gonna go. Toodles.

MM: Hadouken!

Continuing with my Guaranteed Three I bring you my Musical Mondays.
I'm going to delve into the depths of my very own music collection. I must warn you in advance however, that it's not all pretty. (I'm pretty sure I got a Britney Spears album in there somewhere).
The very first musical offering I'll be giving you is the band Hadouken!

It's hard to give this band a genre as their music sounds like so many things rolled into one. You can hear an influence of the old 8-bit games thrown in as well. I'm not good at describing why I like music. I like the songs I hear because I do. Oh but they do have to follow two rules. I have to understand what's being said (all the better for Karaoke), and have a decent tune (preferably with a guitar solo thrown in for good measure).
The first song that was released by Hadouken! was That Boy That Girl on the 7/5/08 (remember in england the date is dd/mm/yy) followed a month later by Liquid Lives which I found the video for and will be showing you.
.
.
.
.
.
.
now.

Refreshing, is it not? I know one thing is for sure. Most people will be having the main lryics running though their heads. "Drink, Smoke, F**k, Fight". Damn I forgot how long it took till I managed to get that out of head. Oh well at least its not a crappy tune.

UPDATE

I've just found out that Hadouken! have released the album "Music For An Accelerated Culture" into the Americas today. I strongly advice you to at least preview it though iTunes.

Good luck to them. I hope it sells well.
